The Runaway Pea

A new performance for young children based on the book by Kjartan Poskitt and Alex Willmore.

Licensed by Simon & Schuster (UK), R&D supported by Creative Scotland, Imaginate and Capital Theatres

It’s time for dinner, but one pesky pea has decided to roll himself off the plate in search of a party! The rogue pea shoots, flings, and bounces across the kitchen as he embarks on his perilous adventure. Exploring ideas of scale, design and musicality to represent the journey of the pea on its adventure around the home and the challenges it encounters.

A work in progress sharing of The Runaway Pea was programmed as part of Edinburgh International Children’s Festival in May 2025 for delegates and programmers.

We’ve secured funding for development so please watch this space for more Runaway Pea fun in 2027.
